Circleville Pumpkin Show

Last weekend I went to the Circleville Pumpkin Show with a few friends from work. Jill and Julie took their significant others and I was the fifth wheel! :) They didn't let me feel like it though. Thanks ladies.

This was probably the most fun I've ever had at the Show. We walked around and looked at all of the vendors, ate lots of pumpkin related foods - well, I didn't because I hate pumpkin, but everyone else did - and watched the amazing parade. I got lots of ideas for our float for work next year too!

such good friends to have!

one giant pumpkin pie. i hate pumpkin pie, so this is really disgusting to me. :)
Our group! :)

My eyes are shut. We took two pictures of every pose all evening except this one "just in case."

Best Week

I was in Indianapolis last week for a large convention through my work. It is the largest youth convention in the world - more than 57,000 students, teachers and guests were there! That's almost as many students as Ohio State has.

During the convention I had to talk to the high school students there about going to college, what our college has to offer, etc. It was such a fun week because I got to interact with students from all over the country and I got to get to know the students in my department better, which was probably the highlight of the whole trip. I just feel like they know me better and I know them better. I'm not some old boring adult, although one of them did not realize I was as old as I am, so I take that as a plus.

I also got hit on by a high school student (still got it!). He liked my red pants!

One night we had a dance for all of the students from Ohio. You know 16 year old me sat along the side of the dance floor and never danced unless someone asked me to dance (usually a counselor or camp staff member because they felt bad that I wasn't involved) and definitely never danced in front of people to fast songs....well, I led an entire ballroom of high school kids in a 'line dance' that I made up as I went to N*Sync's "Bye Bye Bye". I didn't really realize that they even watching me until I changed my moves and they all did too! And I also "wobbled". On. The. Stage! That is probably my favorite line dance of all time! It was the best time.

My hotel was also super swanky! My room alone was two stories! And had a spiral staircase!

I went out for ice cream with the students the first night we were in town! And got my picture with this giant bear.

Ohio State's booth.

Arkansas was also there, so I got my picture with their razorback!

I really liked these boots, but I did not get them.

My signature pose at the dance.
Ohio State group at the dance.

Photo Booth at the company next to us!

I had to sweet talk the ladies at the Arkansas booth, but I eventually got a hog nose!

I went to my first General Session for National FFA.

And I got to visit Katy and baby Claire!! (And Gus, the prettiest cat ever!)

I wrapped up the week with a short trip to Chicago to see my sis, bro-in-law and nieces. I'm tired. I'm so glad I don't have a ton of stuff going on this week, because I definitely need the time to catch up on my rest!

Busy! Busy! Busy!

Remember when I said back in September that I was looking forward to having a routine again? Yeah, that routine has yet to appear. I think it will be back after this week. I think. (I hope and pray!)

It's been such a whirlwind busy few weeks around here.

We'll recap the last few weeks:

Bowie went to the vet for her second round of shots. She's up to 6lbs now. She's getting so big. She did so much better this time. They wrapped her in a towel since her records talk about how she was 'resistant' last time she was in. She has a reputation already.

She and Posey are getting to be better friends. She still runs from Posey 99.9% of the time, but they can sit in a chair long enough to get their picture taken.

Bowie now has a frame beside that dog one of Posey.

We went to Kyle & Christians wedding that weekend too. And after it was over enjoyed a nice bonfire with friends.

I supervised some student organizations during the building of a homecoming float. Fun times.

My Junior League hosted a large rummage sale in early October and they had the cutest furniture. I actually bought 3 things (5 items!) for my house.I had to work a shift unpacking shoes....lots and lots of shoes and a shift on Saturday morning during the actual sale.

Didn't get any of these.

Almost got those little wooden chairs. Almost.

I did get these bookshelves to put in my living room. I'm thinking of painting them navy blue with a bright background. Color suggestions?

Anyone ever heard of these turkey things you pin on a pinapple? Apparently it's a legit Thanksgiving decoration.

Lots of shopping! (Sorry Fletcher for getting you in the photo!)

After I was done yard saling, I headed to my work tailgate events. One of the Homecoming Queen candidates is in my department so we got a picture with her.

I also got to go to the Nebraska game that night because there was an extra ticket. I went and sat by myself the first half and ended up finding friends to sit with the second half. Probably the most fun I've ever had because I wasn't worried about anyone else's enjoyment, I just focused on enjoying the game myself!

So lucky to have Fisher as a friend!
That Sunday Jill and I went out for brunch and then did a little shopping at the Morgan House and DSW. I got a new purse! and  Saw some really cute Ohio State stuff at the Morgan House. I'll be going back there for Christmas gifts!

Bowie is still super adorable. I just can't believe how big she is compared to when I first got her. She is definitely growing up.

This is how she laid on me one night while I was trying to watch television. Silly girl.

Looking forward to the slowness that comes with the rest of fall and winter! :)

shopping trip

Last week I went shopping at this warehouse outside of Columbus that sells designer clothes for cheap, cheap, cheap!

I bought dress pants for $9, the same pants that are still in the store for much more. They also had skirts, dresses, suit jackets, jeans, tops, shoes, bras from a designer store known for their angels.

Didn't get this shirt.

Did get this one

Fancy houndstooth dress to wear to work. (Or an Alabama game! Roll Tide!)

Got this one too. I thought it would be cute anytime of the year.

Can't see it really, but they're teal dress capris.

$9!!!!!

I got all three colors. I bought black and blue ones earlier this fall for full price.

clothes racks.

$5 bras. Not $45 like in the store.
So I definitely spent waaaay too much money, but I got a lot of good stuff that I'll be able to wear all winter and even in the spring. And hopefully orange pants are still in style next summer, cause I have a pair. :)

Alex gets married!

My cousin Alex got married a few weeks ago. I had been looking forward to this wedding for a long, long time. 1. because I knew it was going to be a really fun wedding. 2. because I would get to see all of my family that I used to spend most Sunday's with and hadn't seen all together in a long, long time!

The wedding was so pretty! And the reception was a lot of fun as well. It was great to see so many people in my family just hang out, relax and have a good time.

They later had a lot of fun, but at this point they were bored. :)
