The Best Days

I love this song by Taylor Swift. It should really have been in a Mother's Day post that I didn't do. (Sorry Mom!)

But every time I have a good day, I always sing the the chorus in my head...."I had the best day....". Even though I know that's now entirely how it goes. But anyway, I've had some really awesomely great days lately and I just want to document those.

In my past blog life, I wrote just about every day with a summary of my life/day. This blog I'm not doing that so much, just big events. But this week really hasn't had any major events, so I'm just going to highlight some of the smaller ones.

We'll start with last Thursday, when I had lunch at Betty's in downtown with my friend Cara (who blogs here.) Then that night my college had their annual banquet. My co-workers did a flash mob. I was a little upset that I wasn't asked to participate, but they all said I was too young. I think they just didn't want me showing them up, but whatev.

That Friday night I spent at a friends house playing games with girls from my bible study class. So much fun! It was great to hang out with them way past my bedtime talking and laughing and just having fun. And after we got to talking there are three other girls in my class that come from ag backgrounds. One of which I went to college with and two others that we know the same people. #crazy

I spent a great weekend at home with my family, except Tyler who was gone the whole time because of his soccer coaching duties. We got Mom's Mother's Day flowers at the Amish store on Saturday and that afternoon Dad and I worked all afternoon cleaning out the flowerbeds and laying brick in front of the house where we had all of the bushes pulled out. #sorearms #nopainnogain

It kind of looks like a hot mess right now because of all the dirt and no mulch, etc. But it's getting there!

Blurry photo of me with my margarita at Ritchie's. I obvi got a lot of sun that day.

Posers out in the yard. I can't believe I'm a dog person now, but I love this girl.
Sunday we spent Mother's Day at my grandma's and I didn't take one picture! Sunday evening I went to Erica's and watch Desperate Housewives' series finale. It was not all that great (the show, not the visit!), but I'm glad I got to visit with my bestie before she moved even further away from me! :( (I seriously cried all day yesterday because I knew she was driving that UHaul to Florida!)

Wednesday and Thursday I spent my evenings at Huntington Park. Go Clippers. One night with co-workers and the next night with friends. Love that ballpark and baseball games.

This view never gets old.

Me and my friend Brittany!
Yesterday was also a really good day for a bunch of random reasons that made me feel good. I'll start off by saying how much I love when students just pop into my office to say hello or wait for friends to get done with a meeting/class. Do you know how 'cool' that makes me feel? ha. So my office had a steady flow of students most of yesterday and that made me feel loved. Then I had my first meeting as an adviser of a student organization. I was nominated by students to serve as an adviser! So touched. I was also asked if I'd be interested in being an adviser for a sorority here on campus too. All my dreams are coming true! ha.

Funny story....I was introduced as my sister at the meeting. I guess that is payback for all of the years she was known as "Emily's little sister!" Then, Payton, who is kind of like my 14 year old little sister, texts me and wants a picture of my hair to show to her stylist because she wants it cut/colored like mine! And here I've been trying to grow mine out to look like hers because she's way more stylish than I'll ever be! And she wants her hair like mine. That's like the biggest compliment ever! I mean, I do love my hair right now. It is the longest it's ever been.

And to end of a funny note, my friend Cara wrote a hilarious post on my facebook wall yesterday. A few weeks ago we were talking (on facebook) about going to get ice cream in her rental car that was a convertible and I don't even remember how the conversation was going (so I had to copy and paste it below!) but there were rap song lyrics getting commented and I ended up ending the comment fest. I just crack myself up sometimes.

The car we were commenting on!

Morgan Sweet ride! You should go cruising around if the weather gets better! OR take me for a ride when you come to SGAD Friday ;)
Cory Jeep > Mitsubishi... Merica>Japan
Ashley I bet you just loved the low riding mini car!
Emily I want to go cruising too!!!!
Jody Me too!
Emily  I think a crushing trip to get ice cream is in order before this car goes back. Or hot chocolate if it doesn't warm up. So we can ride with the top down of course.
Jody I see a back seat... I want in on that! Haha
Emily  this car actually wants to make me dig out my fair queen crown and sash and ride on the back of the car.
Rose  Emily, I thought the same thing!
Cara You are all welcome to cruise with me! Mini car is very fun! And I would be glad to play parade, Emily and Rose!
Cara They see me rollin, they hate it...
RoseWhen does she go back?
Cara  She is going back Thursday or Friday as far as I know.
Jody...patrolling they tryin to catch me ridin dirty
Cara  Hahaha I don't know why I didn't think of this awesome song to describe mini car earlier!! Sums it up perfectly!
Jody  ‎...but this of what you could have had.... Wanna be a baller, shot caller, Twenty inch blades -- on the Impala
Cara I should make a CD of all of these classics and play it before mini car has to be returned!
Emily i totally meant to say 'cruising' not 'crushing'. although all the boys would be crushing on us with our ice cream.......my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard....
And bam! Everyone liked my last comment and no one could top it.

But then Cara posted this on my wall yesterday and I've literally laughed since she did so.
Cara Just made up a new song: herbalicious. my herbs are so delicious. I be up in my garden just working on my dishes.. baahah.. reminded me of you for some reason :)
Love her and having someone that gets my dorky sense of humor. I've missed having that person.
